A great destination!

Brilliant fun for kids. Right next the beaches and rock-pools and other resort attractions.

Great for parents. Well equipped house. Safe, uncrowded beaches and entertainment - and baby-sitting if you want it!

Sporty types will love the golf courses that surround us, the fishing, sailing and gym that are just a short jog away.

For historians, or simply curious, the story or Youghal is amazing - find out about the three sieges, naval battles and past residents like Walter Raleigh and Oliver Cromwell.

Foodies will love the selection of fine dining nearby. And there are plenty of other restaurants to suit all pockets.

Or you can just relax, with a good book, in peace and quiet. Or sit and watch as the world passes by and the tides ebb and flow.

Houses in Youghal to let

The House

3 and 4 Clifton are semi detached Victorian houses overlooking the sea, a 2 minutes walk to 3 blue flag beaches and just a stroll from the quaint and historic town of Youghal in County Cork, on the very south coast of Ireland, what we call The Irish Riviera. 3 and 4 Clifton are beautifully restored Victorian townhouses available for short term holiday rental. Both houses are decorated to the highest standards and make a fantastic holiday home, near the beach, overlooking the sea and just a stroll into town. 3 and 4 Clifton are available for holiday rental and you can book online on this website.

A listed properties in a heritage area and built to the highest standards more than 130 years ago Clifton is simply the best address in Youghal. Sitauted an easy, short walk from Youghal town and the 2 Blue Flag beaches, Clifton faces the promenade and lighthouse where everyone else strolls to enjoy the view and take photos.  Read the reviews - guests rave about the views, particularly from the window seat in the main lounge where you can see the Atlantic ocean to the South, the hills and mountains of county Waterford to the East, the river Blackwater to the North and the beautiful river estuary right in front.

The river meets the sea directly in front of the house, and you can while away the hours watching the ebb and flow of the tides, the fishing and leisure boats and the wildlife. Of particular delight is the chance to see pods of dolphins who visit Youghal Bay on bright sunny summer days, when the sea is calm and the tide is high and the mackerel shoals afford them a feast.

Youghal - a quaint town, steeped in history AND blessed with 3 Blue Flag Beaches!! The blue flag beaches are easily accessible, just a 3 minute stroll along the Promenade from 3 Clifton. We are blessed with a mild climate. We avoid harsh winters and enjoy at lot of sunshine - that's why overgrown Yucca's, which look like palm trees, are everywhere.

MILES and MILES or beaches
NB:The beach in this picture is not one of the Blue Flag beaches. But there are so many others nearby, and this one is a personal favourite. It's hard to find, but we'll let you know :)

Back inside 3 Clifton, the huge lounge occupies the middle floor with double aspect windows facing the sea, sofas beside the fireplace and a large window seat/day bed to soak up the views. There is a large flat panel high definition TV, DVD and Video players, plus multichannel Sky TV available. You'll also find free Broadband wireless internet access too.

On the ground floor the modern kitchen diner provides every essental luxury and the space to dine in style. The kitchen is equipped with an electric double oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, wine cooler, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine (we'll supply some coffee - but you might
want to bring some more with you).

In the dining section there is an extendable table that will seat at least 8, plus an easy chair, window seats and flat panel TV providing another relaxing seating area.

At the very top of the house is a full size bathroom, there is a toilet on the mid level and a separate power-shower room with toilet on the first landing.

On the ground floor the utility room at the back of the house has a washing machine and tumble dryer and a large fridge freezer.

Outside there a huge patio, with seating for 8, providing a fabulous setting for breakfast or a BBQ.

The house is approached by a easy paved slope and is elevated above the road affording fabulous views over the river and out to sea.  There is ample parking right below the house on the main road into Youghal.

3 Clifton is a 3 storey house, and there are 42 low-rise stairs to the top, arranged in 6 short flights of stairs. Our children had no trouble with the stairs even when they were toddlers and helping us prepare the house for guests: a stair-gate is included so that you can keep the stairs off limits if you wish. Older guests should have no problems, and of course they can always select to use the bedroom on the middle floor so that they dont need to climb to the top at all. However, we do not recommend 3 Clifton for the infirm.

The quaint town of Youghal is just a stroll away and you will find many bars, pubs and good quality restuarants and cafes there. Many of the pubs have live music especially at the weekends and Bank Holidays so whether you are looking for Traditional Irish, folk or rock you will find somethign to your taste.

A great attraction of Youghal is the beautiful, long unspoiled beaches - 2 of The nearest beaches are Blue Flag designated and are only 5 minutes walk away. There are secluded coves even closer, great rock pools to explore and the diving rocks next to the Lighhouse.

Shopping - you can stock up in the large supermarkets in town including a large 24 hour Tesco and a local SuperValu. But there is a really well stocked minimarket just a 1 minute walk away, beside the nearest pub, and the nearest beach, and a large grassy park for the kids to run around.  Cork City is a vibrant, interesting place to visit whether for shopping or sight seeing and is only 40 minutes drive from Youghal.

Just 10 minutes walk along the promenade or 1 minutes drive from Clifton is the brand new public swimming pool, gym, sauna, water slide complex. Open 7 days a week there are 3 pools to suit babies, new and competent swimmers. The gym is fantastic, with over 50 pieces of equipment, music and sky TV to divert you. Its open to all up to 10pm on most nights on a pay as you go basis.
